Convert your Kindle eBooks into Audiobooks using ACX (Part Two)

 

In previous article (Part One), we have discussed eleven points and tried to understand that How ACX works for us to convert our kindle book into Audiobook? Now we'll discuss further ahead in the part "Distribution" where we'll set the parameters for the distribution of our Audiobook.

12. Choose your Area/territory rights to sell

your audiobook is dependent on selection of your area or region to sell, select the option, "World" if you wanna sell your audiobook worldwide.

13. Choose Payment Method

How do you wanna pay your ACX narrator? You've options to select either a revenue share model or a pay per hour production fee basis. If you are not sure which one you should select? choose both for now and make a deal once you've found your desired narrator.

14. Selection of Distribution Type

Select between non-exclusive and exclusive. Recommendations are, choose exclusive option. Because royalty percentage is higher, and by the way everyone would like to sell their books and audiobooks in one place.

15. Review and Post

Now, we are on our third and final step of converting our kindle book into audiobook using ACX is "Review and Post". Create a post for your book narration, monitor your ACX dashboard,  and let narrators to find you and to message you.

16. Review Auditions

It's time to have some fun, narrators will start auditioning on your given script for your audiobook. You'll receive email each time a new audition comes through. Normally, you should wait for 5 days to let them audition. During this period of time, if you know your favorite narrator or in mind, you may send an invitation to audition for your kindle book.

17. To listen the Audition

log into your ACX profile and click "new auditions" in the top menu bar.

18. To listen unheard Auditions

Your unheard Auditions will show in the right sidebar. You may listen by clicking "play" button, you may also "like" or "dislike" their auditions.

19. Scheduling with your Selected Narrator

Once you've selected which narrator you wanna use, and notified them, set your schedule to decide what timeframe they have to work within. Edits and correction time are included too.

20. Select payment method for Narrator

Discuss it with your chosen narrator that how would he/she like to receive payment?

The most likely pay via PayPal. If you select royalty share option, ACX will handle it. Before sending a payment proposal off, click "preview offer" to check.

21. Send offer to Narrator

Once you are done to all the checks, click "send offer" to send it to your narrator.

22. Send the Kindle Book Manuscript

After accepting your offer by narrator, your first collaborative step is to send the complete manuscript to narrator which you want to make an audiobook. ACX will keep in touch with you by email and guide you to further proceed. Click browse to upload the manuscript. Manuscript must be in doc, docx, pdf or txt format.

Now wait for ACX to review your manuscript and record the first 15 mins of your book's narration will upload for your approval. You'll listen your 15 mins narration of your book. If you're happy then select "approve" or if you wanna some changes or queries in your mind, just click "send message" to contact to your narrator.

After your satisfaction, narrator will start narrating your book, it will take time and days, depending on your setting with narrator before. You'll have to check your ACX profile daily whenever your project reach at completed. You can check the work progress in "produce audiobook" tab.

23. Design and Upload your Audiobook Cover

During the period when your narrator is working on your book recording, you should contact for your eBook cover designer and make design your audiobook cover. Remember, you should not take risk to design it yourself, read article.

24. Upload Cover Art for ACX

Login to your ACX dashboard, go to your book's project "Upload Cover Art" to upload the cover image.

25. Do a Final Review of Complete Narration

You'll receive an email when your audiobook reaches at the end, Now you need some free time from your busy schedule to listen each chapter of your book carefully and mark every mistake that your narrator made. Now you can request for changes from your narrator. If you're satisfied with narration, click "Approve Audiobook".

26. Q/A checks from ACX

You'll receive an email with Q/A checks guidelines for your "Approve Audiobook". It will take approx. two weeks to complete the Q/A checks for your audiobook from ACX. Now you just have to confirm your bank info and wait. In case, your audiobook does not pass the QA for any reason, you and your narrator/producer will be contacted by ACX with the instructions for how to remedy this.

27. Your Audiobook is Now Live 

You'll receive a congratulating email that your audiobook is now live on Amazon and Audible! It's time to you to celebrate your achievement with your friends and family and co-workers and tell them about your audiobook share your links with them and spread the news on social media and generate your revenues from your Audiobook.
